Services - Calibration

GNW Medical's parent company, Gauges North West, is a fully ISO certified calibration company. Since forming in 1974, we have calibrated nearly every type of instrumentation that had been available.

Calibration is an essential element of the activities of any company if quality is to be taken seriously. The need for instrumentation to perform consistently, to a high accuracy throughout its working life, can only be fulfilled if they are periodically calibrated. To ensure that they are within designated permissible limits of error.

Calibration is performed by experienced technically qualified staff within a temperature and humidity controlled environment. All instrumentation, from goods inwards through to despatch, is monitored and undertakes rigorous tests to ensure our customers receive their goods in exactly the condition they require.

With many years of experience and customer feed back we have now perfected our calibration and repair procedures ensuring a rapid turnaround time and therefore reducing down time for our customers.

We can now perform safety tests and certify medical equipment to the following standards:

AAMI/ES 60601, UL2601, EN60601, IEC 62353, VDE0751, AS/NZ 3200, AZ/NZ 3551, MDA DB9801 - 2005

We can also calibrate and certify patient monitoring equipment. Our tests include a 12 lead ECG signal with 43 arrhythmias, dual blood pressure, respiration, and temperature. We simulate; Normal Sinus Rhythm (NSR), ST Segment, Tall T, Myocardial Infarction, R-Wave Detection, High Level ECG output, Temperature (YSI400 / 700) Pacer Waves, IBP (Single / Dual Channel), Apnoea, Performance Waveforms and Pulse Waves. A square, sine, and triangle performance waveform test is also carried out

Our repair and calibration services conform to BS EN ISO 9002:2000, with our master test units being traceable to the following standards:
